Set of resources challenging students to design their own coffee cup sleeve in the style of artist Lei Xue. Xue mixes traditional Chinese Willow patterns with contemporary, pop art references. Students are asked to create their own take on this design. The set of sheets include instructions, examples and references for Lei Xue’s work. A Y7 example of the task and the coffee sleeve template. This task can be extended to develop the design and printed to actually create coffee cup wraps or reusable cups. A project exploring Matisse’s works and his cut out style. Students link his technique to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic games, creating a contemporary minimal sports poster. Extending the technique, students progress onto the work of Bernardo Henning, who has influences of Matisse’s shapes and mark making within his designs. The project can be completed by hand, or digitally using Photoshop.

Presentation introducing students to creating zines as a way of presenting projects. The slides take you through a brief history and holds videos of mini documentaries and how to begin your own outcome. The presentation can be adapted to reflect any completed project or used as a starting point to collect visual ideas and recordings. Presentation giving instruction to a group Christmas drawing challenge. Each student is allocated one of 20 squares to complete using tonal shading. Once complete, the squares place together to create a large scale drawing of The Grinch. This was originally carried out as a remote, online task and images pasted together digitally. It may adapted easily for in class purposes.

A presentation and tutorial to guide students through the work of Temi Coker, creating a mixed media digital poster as an end product. Students are to draw a portrait of an inspirational figure from back history before piecing together a poster design, in the style of Temi Coker. Basic Photoshop instruction provided with room for students to make their own copy of the presentation and add their development as they progress. Analysis prompts and written tasks are also provided throughout the presentation.

Series of 6 posters outlining the Edexcel Art & Design specification. The posters come as lists for each marking category and describes in student friendly vocab the assessment criteria for each marking level. Each marking band is spread over 2 sheets, usually printed to A4 size and joined together. A perfect visual aid for students to understand how to achieve work in higher levels.

Brief scheme of work aimed at a Y12 induction to Graphic Design. The scheme of work begins with students studying Rauschenberg’s collage screenprints and interprets them into modern collage pieces. Originally used during distance online learning, students enjoyed working away for the screens and challenging their creative minds. Students then draw their own national animal of their chosen country and layer the two stages together. Suitable for KS3 or KS4 and can be followed using Photoshop or Photopea.
